Sandy, OR Home Remodel

This client recently wrote:  “I did not want to end up with a project that looked like something from Home Depot or out of a how-to magazine.  I could easily have remodeled without using a designer, but I wanted to get a look that was special to just me – a place that reflects my taste and style.  That is what I got and I could not be happier.”  In the midst of remodeling his own home, my client was a bit confused and unsure about color direction, wall and ceiling treatment, lighting, backsplash design, flooring, etc.  He knew he wanted to eliminate the paneling throughout the space and that he wanted to try his hand at some sort of decorative wall finish, but did not know what that might be.  He also knew he wanted to keep the existing carpet, but replace the entry vinyl and kitchen flooring.  Overall, he wanted to feel comfortable, and have artistic elements added to his home.  And finally, he knew he wanted professional help with some of physical labor.  He truly was held up in the middle of the project with new cabinets and appliances waiting to be installed.  By carefully listening to him, and working with him, I understood his preferences and together we “figured out” what he wanted.   When needed, I connected him with the appropriate contractors to handle the work he did not wish to do himself.
